ONE STEP POWDER RESIN

 

 

One Step Powder Adhesive


One Step Powder Resin is for simple application. It does not require hardener or hot
press. One Step Powder Resin is a ready mixed Urea Formaldehyde Resin, which
requires only a simple mixing with water before used. It could produce an excellent bond
on porous and semi porous materials such as soft or hard wood , plywood, particleboard, Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) etc.

One Step powder resin is very suitable and highly recommended to be use on:
  1. Production of wooden furniture and wooden handicrafts.
  2. Door, window and other builder's wood works
  3. Veneering, laminating, paneling and edge-gluing operation
  4. Wood flooring
  5. Carpentry and reparation on wooden products

The advantages of One Step Powder Resin:
  • It produces a strong and highly water resistant bond
  • Unlike commonly used PVA base adhesives (white Glue), One Step Powder Resin does not shrink when cured. Therefore doesn't produce hollow contact between glue surfaces, best  for wooden flooring applications to create solid contact to the floor.
  • When cured, it is easy to sand, and could be painted or varnished.
  • It is unaffected by molds, fungi, bacteria, oil, gasoline and solvents.
  • Formulated with special pre blend filler with natural wood color. Holes, gaps or uneven surfaces in wood are filled or covered easily and seamlessly, could also  be mixed with saw dust to use as filler on larger gaps.
  • One Step Powder Resin is water base, so equipments used in the process are easy to clean or maintain before it is cured in 1 hour ( stabilize and fully harden in 5 hours).
  • It is convenient to carry and most suitable when volume and schedule of work is unpredictable.
  • It has 9 months storage life in close environment with temperature below 30°C and nonflammable.
  • The simple and easy preparation is ideal where inexperienced personnel are responsible for mixing the adhesive or where mixing equipments is limited.
One Step Powder Resin can also be used for both hot and cold pressing operations.

One Step Powder Resin complies with Federal Specification MMM-A-188b, Type II
qualification.

Application Direction
 1. Mixing
Pour powder on a suitable container. To avoid waste, mix only sufficient amount needed for 1 hour use and add water. Recommended ratio by weight is 10 kg powder to 5 liters water.
Ratio by volume is 3 parts of Powder to 1 part of Water.

 

2. Stirring
Stir thoroughly until the mixture becomes a smooth paste free of lumps.

3. Applying
Use brush or piece of wood to spread glue mixture thinly on the surface, just one side is enough.

Make sure the surfaces to be glued are clean, free from moisture, grease or dust.

 4. Clamping
Clamp or press while the glue mixture is still wet or tacky,
and let a little glue squeeze-out from the joint upon pressing to indicates adequate glue spread. Wipe out excess glue with cloth before it dries.  Clean all tools, equipment and containers with warm water well within one hour after mixing.


Clamping time
Clamp under pressure while glue is still wet for 4-5 hours for soft wood, and for hard wood 6-8 hours at 30°C. Longer time is needed for lower temperature. Maximum strength will achieve after 4-5 days of application. Any glue on wood surface shall to be
clean before it gel within 1 hour or it will be irremovable.

Important note:

  1. Expired or damage ONESTEP powder  should not be used or mix with fresh new powder (not expired). (see storage info below )
  2. Do not mix fresh new ONESTEP mix with  ONESTEP leftover mixture (almost cure),
The above action will create  lumps, uneven curing and it will  weaken bonding strength or total failure.

Suitable for heavy duty flooring

 

Application on Wooden Flooring:

  1. Make sure the floor is even surface
  2. Clean the floor from dust and grease before applying wood flooring with Onestep wood glue.
  3. Prepare Onestep powder glue mixture just enough for 30-45 minutes work.  Do not mix the cured left over mixture with new, it will weaken the bonding.
  4. Apply on the wood and place it on the floor, let the glue squeeze out from the joint to ensure solid contact to the floor.
  5. Clean up all the remaining glue on the wood surface before it cure in 1 hour with wet cloth or sponge and soap

 

Heavy duty hard wood flooring application

Warning:

Any glue stain on  the wood floor surface after harden will stay permanently. Removing harden glue will damage the surface.

 

 

 


When Onestep is used on wood flooring application, unlike PVAC (White glue), Onestep will not become hollow when it cured and dry, because it has very minimum shrinkage. Wood floor will become more solid and stable, no problem of insects and bacteria growing inside or trapping water moisture.

 

 

 

 

Test Result:

 

  

These blocks of hard wood were glued together and pulled by 2 trucks from opposite direction. Resulted total wood and metal bracket failure, but the glue joint still stay undamaged.


 2 pieces of 3"x1" wood bond together over 1"x1" surface, then pull apart to determine the bonding strength (kg/inch) and wood percentage of failure.

 

Test  result shows that the glue joint is stronger than  wood. It could easily take up to 45 kg / square inch on hard wood.

 

 

 

 Onestep is a nonflammable adhesive in wet or dry condition.

Storage :

  • Store in a cool dry place away from direct sun light, heat and moisture will cause
    the Powder Resin to harden and it will become useless.
  • In cases where there is left over Powder Resin, keep it in secure air tight bag to avoid exposure of Powder Resin to open air and moisture.
  • In the original sealed packaging at 30°C Powder Resin has a storage life of approximate 9 months.
  • The maximum storage life is attained when Powder Resin is stored under dry and cool conditions (below 30°C)
  • The Powder Resin should always be protected from high temperature and high atmospheric humidity.
